In the age where technology threads seamlessly with art, the "Exploratory Workflow" project seeks to unravel these whispered tales and shape them through layers of both the digital and the physical.
Research Phase - Initial Coral Observation and Digital Documentation
Stage 1: OBSERVATION
It begins with the elemental: the coral. Nature's intricate masterpiece. Its every ridge and groove tells a saga of time, environment, and evolution. This observation is not mere witnessing; it's a communion.

A reincarnation. From bytes to matter, the digital coral comes alive in a new avatar. Yet, as it finds form, it carries with it the ghostly echoes of the digital manipulations, a blend of what was and what has been imagined.

As we oscillate between the tactile and the virtual in this "Exploratory Workflow," we touch upon a profound philosophical musing: In our age, what truly is the distinction between the tangible and intangible? The 'real' and the 'imagined'? This project is not just about the coral, art, or technology. It's an exploration of existence in a world where boundaries are constantly redefined.
Amidst this transformation from vacuum forming, a tale from the annals of humanity emerges. As the coral takes shape, it is sheathed in plastic, drawing parallels to a time when humans, in their ceaseless endeavor to preserve, enveloped live corals in a protective shield of plastic. These actions, though undertaken with the hope of conserving these fragile marine entities from external threats, were ironically emblematic of our sometimes misguided interventions with nature.
The plastic-wrapped coral, then, isn't merely a physical form; it's a poignant narrative of humanity's dance with nature, an oscillation between protection and domination, care and oblivion. As observers witness this stage, they are gently nudged to reflect on our place in the natural world and the consequences, both intended and unforeseen, of our touch upon it.
By the journey's end, participants are left with more than just an experience. They're left with a contemplation – on art, nature, technology, and the intriguing intersections of these realms. In the digital age, where everything can be replicated, reimagined, and reborn, what becomes of the essence of the original? And more importantly, as creators and observers, where do we stand amidst these shifting sands?
